Privacy Policy

Effective September 1, 2026. KinLesson is built for parents and guardians to plan homeschool learning and keep family education records. This policy explains what information we handle and why.

Information you provide

KinLesson may store account and profile information, family workspace details, student names and optional birth dates, school years, subjects, curriculum, lesson plans, attendance, instructional time, grades, assessments, reading records, portfolio entries, milestones, notes, and files you choose to upload such as photos, videos, PDFs, and other documents.

Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored directly in the KinLesson application database.

Children's information

KinLesson is intended for use by parents, guardians, and other authorized adults, not for children to create independent accounts. A parent or guardian may enter information about a child as part of maintaining the family's homeschool records. We use that information only to provide and operate the KinLesson service and related support.

How we use information

  • Provide, synchronize, secure, and support your KinLesson family workspace.
  • Generate reports, exports, portfolios, yearbooks, reminders, and other features you request.
  • Authenticate users, recover accounts, prevent abuse, and investigate service or security problems.
  • Process subscriptions and maintain plan status.
  • Improve reliability and understand aggregate service performance.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect users, KinLesson, and others.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate KinLesson, including infrastructure, database and file storage, hosting, authentication email delivery, and payment processing providers. These providers receive information only as needed to perform services for KinLesson and are subject to their own security and privacy obligations.

KinLesson does not sell family or student personal information. We do not use student records for third-party advertising.

Security and access

KinLesson uses authenticated access controls, family-scoped database permissions, private storage for family files, and server-side controls for sensitive operations. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we design the service to limit access to authorized users and systems.

Retention, exports, and deletion

Family records are retained while your account or family workspace is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service. KinLesson includes tools to export structured records and private files so your homeschool record is portable.

You may request account deletion from the account controls in KinLesson or follow the instructions on our account deletion page. Shared family workspaces may require review so one adult's deletion request does not improperly destroy records that another authorized family member is entitled to retain. Some limited information may also be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, financial records, dispute resolution, or other legal obligations.

Your choices

You can update many records directly in KinLesson, export your data, manage your subscription from the web account area when available, and request account deletion. You may contact us about access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions at kj@kinlesson.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as KinLesson changes. We will post the current version here and update the effective date when material changes are made.
